Cauflield Thousand Guineas (12/10)

Caulfield Thousand Guineas

Race One
1.Collar - 6.Salter - 5.Meethaq - 7.Supreme Warrior

Race Two
12.Imprimis - 13.Princeton Miss - 6.The Travelling Man - 3.Planet Voyage

Race Three
9.Halle Rocks - 3.Vatican - 2.Bolisimo Miss - 1.Rockshaft

Race Four
9.Cosmonaut - 8.Rhythmic King - 3.Keep Cool - 7.Langridge Street

Race Five
8.Excluded - 11.Absolutelyawesome - 1.Eraset - 7.American Crew

'Excluded' is a young improving prospect who won his last start by 7 lengths, although in an easier grade. He definitely looks to have much more potential than the rest of the field, and will be extremely hard to beat. 'Absolutelyawesome' is another with scope, and in carrying this light weight will be right in the finish.

Race Six
1.Mosheen - 8.Atlantic Jewel - 3.Bliss Street - 2.Hallowell Belle

There is no doubting the talent of favourite 'Atlantic Jewel' in this years edition of the Thousand Guineas, but the $1.50 on offer is simply too short. The application of blinkers certainly brought 'Mosheen' back to her winning best last start and she should do similarly tomorrow, stretching out to 1600m for the first time. Expect her to cross early from barrier 10 and kick away rounding for home. 'Bliss Street' and 'Hallowell Belle' have been ultra consistent and have always been around the mark.

Race Seven
1.Lady Lynette - 17.Yavanna - 9.Gail - 2.Keep The Peace

In what looks an impossible fillies and mares race, 'Lady Lynette' seems the obvious choice through sheer class and consistency. It's hard to fault her win last start, and is only giving 4.5 kgs to the bottom weight. 'Yavanna' looks a handy horse on the up and after winning impressively in a weaker race last start, could prove to be testing material. Expecting an improved race from 'Gail' who hasn't struck her best form this preparation.

Race Eight
5.Soul - 8.Top Drop - 12.Cascabel - 9.Acorns

'Soul' has been disappointing so far this preparation but can bounce back to his best here at his most favoured track. He will need a bit of sting out of the ground, so we will keep our fingers crossed for the forecast showers. 'Top Drop' is a high class sprinter and will be hard to hold out if the speed is honest. 'Jesses Girl'(scratched) is certainly talented on her day, and it wouldn't suprise to see her flashing home late.

Best Bet
Race 5 No 8 Excluded, Race 6 No 1 Mosheen
